the video above is the opening titles of the film Sweeney Todd which creates quite a creepy and sinister mood within the audience by using numerous camera shots, edits, mise en scene and music. The opening sequence doesn't just give off a creepy feeling as the shots that are taken are quite comical at the same time to give us as the audience inscurety about what is expected.
Much like every other opening sequence Sweeney Todd first show the production company in this case it is DreamWorks and Warner Brothers, the production titles are shown for 40 seconds of the 3 minute opening. a unique thing about the iMovie productions is that the theme music for them is not used but instead a creepy soundtrack linking with the movie.
The opening sequence uses its comical and sinister approach effectively as it ix things you wouldn't expect to be together which gives it a serious but also humorous view, for example the images of the the pies leaking with blood and blood being poured into the sewers and sea.
The use of soundtrack is used effectively as it is a key way of creating an atmosphere in this case a creepy and mysterious atmosphere is created due to the fact it started off slowly withe piano and as more and more graphic images were being shown the more serious and tense you felt with the music building up in speed. The ,music also flow well withe pace of the shots.
